Disney Cruise Line has officially launched its first-ever cruise ship based in Asia, with the Disney Adventure setting sail on its maiden voyage from Singapore on 10th March.

The new ship is the eighth in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, and the first to homeport in Asia, bringing Disney’s signature mix of storytelling, entertainment and family-friendly experiences much closer to travellers across Southeast Asia.

For families in the region who love Disney, it’s a big deal: until now, the nearest Disney cruise experiences were far away in the US or Europe. Now travellers can sail straight from Singapore for a Disney holiday at sea.

A Disney Cruise Designed for Asia

The Disney Adventure is the largest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, measuring 1,122 feet long and able to carry around 6,700 passengers along with 2,500 crew members.

Unlike traditional cruises that focus on multiple ports of call, this ship will operate three- and four-night sailings from Singapore, where the ship itself is designed to be the destination.

The ship features seven immersive themed areas, each inspired by Disney, Pixar and Marvel stories. Guests will find everything from superhero adventures to beloved animated worlds brought to life onboard.

Some of the highlights include:

  • Special appearances by Duffy and Friends, a hugely popular Disney character group in Asia.
  • A Marvel-themed adventure zone on the upper decks.
  • San Fransokyo Street, inspired by Big Hero 6.
  • Experiences themed around Disney, Pixar and Marvel films.

New Attractions and Entertainment Onboard

Disney cruises are known for their entertainment, and the Disney Adventure is packed with brand-new attractions and shows created especially for the ship.

Thrilling Attractions

Guests can experience three new high-energy attractions:

  • Ironcycle Test Run – a Marvel-inspired ride featuring Iron Man technology.
  • Groot Galaxy Spin – a playful attraction themed around the beloved Guardians of the Galaxy character.
  • Pym Quantum Racers – an interactive racing attraction inspired by the Ant-Man films.

Live Shows

There will also be five live stage shows performed onboard:

  • Avengers Assemble!
  • Remember
  • Moana: Call of the Sea
  • Disney Seas the Adventure
  • Baymax Super Exercise Expo

And in true Disney style, guests can also look forward to a spectacular Lion King-inspired fireworks show at sea.

Dining the Disney Way

One of the most popular features of Disney cruises is rotational dining, which will also be offered on the Disney Adventure.

This means guests rotate between three different themed restaurants during their cruise, while their serving team moves with them. This means that families can enjoy a new setting each night, but with the same familiar service.

A Big Win for Singapore Travellers

The arrival of the Disney Adventure is also a big boost for Singapore’s tourism industry. Many cruise guests are expected to spend time in the city before or after their sailing, making it a great excuse to turn a Disney cruise into a longer Singapore holiday.

Interestingly, early bookings show that most passengers will be first-time Disney cruisers, and many will be first-time cruisers altogether, highlighting just how much excitement there is around Disney’s arrival in the region.

With Disney Cruise Line already reporting its 2026 sailings more than 80% booked, demand for the new ship is clearly strong.

The Start of Disney’s Big Cruise Expansion

The Disney Adventure is just the beginning of Disney’s expansion at sea. Disney Cruise Line plans to launch five more ships between 2027 and 2031, and a separate Disney cruise operation is already planned for Japan later in the decade.

For now though, the spotlight is firmly on Singapore, and the Disney Adventure is set to become one of the most exciting new cruise experiences in Asia.
