Things to do in Singapore on a Rainy Day

Luckily, though, there are plenty of fun things to do in Singapore that don’t require good weather. And we’re here to help you discover them all!

Visit a Museum

Asian Civilisations Museum in Singapore.

It’s a classic rainy day activity, and luckily you have a wide array of museums to choose from in Singapore.

Singapore is renowned for its rich history and multicultural heritage and you can explore it all in the variety of musuems. For our full recommendations, check out our article the Best Museums and Galleries in Singapore.

For a select few, we recommend the following:

Go to an Art Gallery

National Gallery Singapore art exhibition.

Singapore also has some fantastic art museums showcasing a diverse range of styles and mediums from both local and international artists. Two of our favourites include:

  • National Gallery Singapore – safeguards the most extensive public collection of Singaporean and Southeast Asian art in the world.
  • ArtScience Museum – an exciting fusion of art, science, design, and technology that promises a unique experience.

Explore the Oceanarium

Aquarium and Singapore Oceanarium.

Most of Singapore’s wildlife attractions are outdoors, but the Oceanarium is all indoors, making it an ideal rainy day activity.

Here you’ll find over 800 species of sea creatures, represented across the 49 different habitats of the Oceanarium in Resorts World Sentosa.

Visit the Cloud Forest & Flower Dome

Couple exploring the Cloud Forest at Gardens by the Bay.

The Cloud Forest and Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay are perfect escapes when the weather turns wet.

Both cooled conservatories are fully indoors, letting you explore lush landscapes in total comfort. Wander through the Cloud Forest’s misty walkways and admire its soaring indoor waterfall, then step into the Flower Dome to enjoy ever-changing floral displays from around the world.

With beautiful installations, comfortable temperatures, and plenty of photo spots, it’s one of the most enjoyable and atmospheric rainy-day activities in Singapore.

Go for Afternoon Tea

Raffles High Tea on Verandah.

There’s nothing more indulgent than an exquisite afternoon tea and many of Singapore’s top luxury hotels offer this. It’s the perfect way to wait out a thunderstorm!

Our favourite has to be afternoon tea at Raffles Hotel. Here you can indulge in beautifully presented sandwiches and treats in the refined atmosphere of the Raffles Hotel lobby to the sound of a live harpist.

Take a Cooking Class

Couple at a cooking class.

Perfect for food lovers who want a hands-on activity, a cooking class allows you to learn about Singapore’s food heritage and culture in an informal and fun atmosphere. You’ll get to know

You’ll also be able to enjoy the fruits of your labour once the cooking is done and take home some local recipes with you to recreate your Singaporean adventure.

Here are some cooking classes to check out:

Head to an Indoor playground (adults too!)

Man on indoor obstacle course.

There are loads of places to have fun and feel like a kid again in Singapore, and they are perfect for rainy days. Here is a pick of some of our favourites:

  • Airzone – the world’s first indoor atrium net playground, with bouncy nets spanning over four levels, interconnecting slides, floating ball pits and inflatables.
  • X-scap8 pronounced escapade) – the largest integrated indoor Funground on Orchard Road. You’ll find obstacle courses, a high-elements challenge, smash labs and golf simulators.
  •  Bounce Singapore – our favourite Trampoline park, located on Orchard Road.
  • K Bowling – not your average bowling alley, you’ll find lights, music and action at this cosmic bowling experience.

Hit the Shops

Orchard Road, Singapore.

Orchard Road has one of the highest concentrations of shopping malls worldwide. Best of all, many of them are linked via underground tunnels, meaning you can cruise them without ever going outside. Perfect for when it’s raining!

Head to nine-storey ION Orchard, Paragon and Takashimaya for the best designer and high street shopping, or try the Mandarin Gallery for more boutique offerings.

Go Indoor Skydiving

Couple indoor skydiving.

Head to iFly Singapore on Sentosa Island, where you will find one of the world’s largest indoor skydiving wind tunnels.

Here, you can experience true free-fall conditions, just like a real skydive… except you don’t need to jump out of a plane!

Kids as young as 7 years old can join in the fun, and the best bit is that it is a fraction of the price of an actual skydive.
