April is in the inter-monsoon period in Singapore (between the Northeast Monsoon and Southwest Monsoon seasons).
This means that hot afternoons are common (maximum temperatures above 32°C (90°F) and thunderstorms can be expected in the afternoons and early evenings.
The average temperature is 25.3°C (80°F) and humidity is fairly average for Singapore at 62.3% average. Rainfall is also average, with rain expected half of the days in the month.

Singapore’s average day time maximum temperature in April is 32.4°C (90°F), with an average minimum temperature of 25.3°C (78°F) and a 24-hour average of 28.2°C (83°F).
How much does it rain in Singapore in April?
It rains on average 15 out of 30 days in April in Singapore, meaning you can expect rain on half of the days in April.
Afternoon thunderstorms are common and can bring torrential rain. Pack an umbrella and carry it with you as the rain can come on suddenly. You will probably want to find somewhere dry to sit it out when it does come.
With average rainfall of 164.3mm it is a fairly average month when it comes to rain (compared to 105.1mm in January and 331.9mm in December).
Singapore Humidity in April
Relative humidity in April ranges from a minimum average of 62.3% and a maximum average of 95.6% and a 24-hour daily average of 82.6%. This makes it a fairly average month of the year for humidity.
Note that humidity is generally at its highest in the morning just before sunrise and at its lowest in the mid-afternoon (on days when there is no rain).
You will notice the humidity rising in the lead up to a thunderstorm and it will drop again following the rain.
What should I pack for Singapore in April?
As you can see from the above statistics, Singapore is hot and humid in April and you should be prepared for thunderstorms in the afternoon.
We recommend packing lightweight cotton clothing and carrying an umbrella and water bottle with you at all times. Also don’t forget your sunscreen, insect repellent and swimwear for when you want to jump in the pool to cool off.

What else should I know about visiting Singapore in April?
In 2023 and 2024, Ramadan will take place in March and April. This is the most sacred month of the Islamic calendar and many Muslims will fast from dawn to dusk.
Many families and groups of friends will meet to break the fast in restaurants near the Sultan Mosque in the evenings, making it a fun time to visit when there is a buzz in the air. Many halal restaurants will have Ramadan specials. You will also find a walk-through souq on Kandahar Street.
You will also find street light-ups and Ramadan bazaars around the Geylang Serai area. These are found along Sims Avenue and Changi Road, between Paya Lebar and Eunos MRT stations.
Hari Raya Aidilfitri (also known as Hari Raya Puasa or the Festival of Eid) marks the end of Ramadan and is the biggest festival in the Muslim calendar. There will be more celebrations on this day in Geylang Serai and Kampong Glam.
